Start Here, Go Anywhere

Hello. My name is Theresa, also known as Tbird. I am the founder of HadIt.com, Veteran to Veteran. As HadIt.com entered its 27th year and I entered my 67th, it was time I put my story on paper. I will consider it a success if it encourages or brings a smile to one person.

Diary of A Mad Sailor blog is all about my life and my journey overcoming PTSD and depression to create a popular veterans website, HadIt.com Veteran to Veteran, in 1997, when no one really understood the web.

This is a work in progress. As I write it, I will add more.

I wanted to share with you my story of how:

I created a website that has helped thousands of veterans and had millions of visits.

Over the 27 years HadIt.com has been online, I have created a community of over 26k members. It has seen 14+ Million Visitors and 60+ Million page views.

I have severe PTSD, Major Depression, and a string of incidents behind me that should have killed me. But it didn’t.

I overcame them, got up, and continued. I hope it encourages you. PTSD does not have to end our ability to contribute to society.

When I was young, I felt pulled towards something more significant than staying in my hometown. There was a feeling in the back of my mind.

I give you some background here on my history because it shaped me into who I am, and I shaped what HadIt.com Veterans became.

Despite the mountains I had to climb or dig a tunnel under, I could always get to the other side, recover, get up, and move on.

Even during my own struggles with PTSD/MDD, I felt compelled to assist my fellow veterans and contribute positively to society, even if it meant affecting just one life.

These are stories from my life. Though horrific, each taught me invaluable lessons for my life’s purpose. As you may have guessed, is HadIt.com Veterans.
